Glaucoma is a condition of the eye in which the pressure inside it increases beyond a level, such that it starts damaging the optic nerve. It is the commonest cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Often it is diagnosed in the late stages, and is correctly termed “The silent thief of sight.”
World Glaucoma Week 2018 is being observed from 11th – 18th March in an effort to increase awareness about this deadly disease. Amritsar Eye Clinic and Gyanendra Singh Institute organized a Glaucoma Awareness Walk on 11/03/18, for the same cause.
